Following on from Tendring District Council’s Press Release, Brightlingsea Town Council are pleased to announce the proposed new recommendations for the Local Plan. Brightlingsea Town Councillors have spent many hours of campaigning and had many meetings with Tendring District Council Officers. The proposed 300 homes in Samsons Road have been removed and replaced with 3 new smaller sites. This equates to approximately 90 new homes and 60 assisted living units on the former Well House site. (Subject to sale and planning).
Brightlingsea Town Council would like to thank everyone for their support and comments. It is a statutory legal requirement that Tendring increases their housing supply with all areas being affected.
Brightlingsea Town Council are aware that any increase in housing provision, puts further strain on the Town’s infrastructure and will seek to work with appropriate organisations to mitigate this wherever possible.
