Grants

Brightlingsea Town Council’s Annual Grants Programme

Applications for a grant must be made using the form here and be delivered to the Parish Hall as soon as possible.

Details of the project, its cost and any supporting information must accompany the application form, together with a copy of the documents listed in B10.

In evaluating all applications, the Council will give weight to: –

– The project’s benefit and lasting value to a wide cross section of the local Community.

– The level of grant requested in relation to the financial assets and balances of the organisation.

– The contribution to the expenditure by the organisation itself.

– The probability that the organisation will become wholly or materially dependent upon the Grant.

– Evidence of other fund raising.

Newly established organisations will need to submit details of their proposals and an outline of their plans for the future.

All organisations making an application for a grant are advised to check whether their proposed activity requires any necessary variation through the Criminal Record Bureau (CRB checks).

No applications will be considered for projects whose provision is the legal responsibility of a statutory authority or body.
