At the Annual Council Meeting on Thursday 21st May 2026, Councillor Ric Morgan was elected as the Mayor and Councillor Kate Mitchell was elected as Deputy Mayor for 2026/2027.
The outgoing Mayor, Councillor Chris Paveley wished them both a successful year.
The new Mayor, Councillor Morgan stated that “he is eager to take part in the town’s many events and to support the fantastic organisations that make Brightlingsea so special”.
Councillor Mitchell added “I’m very proud to hold the position of Deputy Mayor of Brightlingsea this year and very much looking forward to working with the Mayor, Councillor Morgan and other members of Brightlingsea Town Council, to continue to make Brightlingsea such a wonderful place to live “.
