We know what with national government, Essex County Council, Tendring District Council and the Town Council, it can be difficult to work out who is meant to be providing what services to you, the tax payer. So part of the job of this website is to provide you with the answers to these kinds of enquiries so you are better informed about who does what. You can find out more about these services and who provides them on the Services page.
The Town Council is made up of twelve Councillors, with elections held every four years – and any resident can stand for election. The next elections are due in 2027, but if you would like to get involved before then please remember that members of the public are allowed to attend all Brightlingsea Town Council meetings. There are various committees that help the Council do the best job it can for residents, businesses and visitors, and you can find out more about these here.
If you are here looking for information about Essex County Council or Tendring District Council then please follow the relevant links.
You can find out more about the the Mayor for 2023-2024 (Councillor Ric Morgan) and the Deputy Mayor (Councillor John Carr) and other Councillors and staff here.
